Spring season / the power of lounges and cafe's

Spring season! More sun hours, trees and flowers staring to bloom again and time for the big spring cleaning! Most of the people start a major cleaning operation when spring season just kicked in, but why?
Spring season almost looks like a rebirth of your life sequence. The time to clean up all the mess and work out problems of last year. Some people don't even think about it and just turn their backs to the past year and works to make this year a better year. I think that the start of spring season is a cleansing ritual. You clear out everything that went wrong, you want to refresh your life and get rid of bad habits and work on a nice healthy, clean space in your house. It feels so incredibly good when your house feels and smells fresh again.

Not only cleaning and cleansing your house and mind comes to play during spring. The sun is a source of inspiration. Not only for my study as Stage engineer, but for a lot of people. The sun makes you want to go out and head to a place to sit, alone or with your friends or family. I remember several television shows where people were meeting in lounges or cafe's, people were even working there on their projects or scheduling new meetings. I'd ask myself, why do all those people go to lounges or cafe's to work on their business projects? Why does a manager schedule a meeting with one of their co workers to offer them a new opportunity inside the department?
I think it's because being in another place then your work space, or even your home. You actually get inspired and get another vibe of the situation. You actually get motivated to start working. You get drinks served, you don't get distracted by a TV, a barking dog or other things that keeps you away from working. Everyone is on it's own, doing their own thing, you wont be bothered by them and vise versa. The only thing that can happen is when someone IS approaching you, you can count on a good conversation. Give yourself a well deserved break from time to time.

From now on, i'm going to try this out, see what effects working in another venue differs from school or my very own home. Think about it: Successful businessmen do this often. It's not about just eat there and spend money on it because they are capable of doing it. I think it's because of the vibe a cafe or lounge holds. Try this out yourself and let me know how you experienced it. Were you able to get a lot more done during your visit? Did you encounter any distractions? Feel free to leave a comment.
